Pittsburgh Corning Introduces New Self-Sealing PITTWRAP® Product

Chemicals, Press Releases

Pittsburgh, PA – April 7, 2016 – Pittsburgh Corning announces the addition of a new self-sealing laminate PITTWRAP® jacketing product that is specially formulated for protecting FOAMGLAS® insulation systems in high-traffic areas.

New PITTWRAP® B100 Aluminum-Butyl wrap was designed to be sealed using manual pressure without the use of a torch or heater. The wrap assures a high level of resistance and protection against punctures and tears due to its high-tack butyl adhesive and 3-layer aluminum and polyester films.

“We are always working to expand our line of high-quality, long-lasting accessory products to best meet our customers unique needs,” Brandon Stambaugh, Director of Product Management, said. “PITTWRAP® B100 Aluminum-Butyl wrap has been specifically formulated, designed and tested to ensure the dependability and performance of our customers’ insulation systems.”

PITTWRAP® B100 Aluminum-Butyl wrap is recommended for above and below ambient service pipelines and equipment; commercial chilled water lines; freeze-thaw protection on LNG installations’ and cold and cryogenic service applications. It is not intended for below ground or indoor use.
